The three games were later re-released as Metroid Prime Trilogy in 2009, and it’s long been rumored that a further upgraded version of the package may be on its way to the Switch.
As innovative as the game was, it remained true to that classic Metroid spirit of exploration and isolation, and spawned two successful sequels: Metroid Prime 2: Echoes and Metroid Prime 3: Corruption. The original Metroid Prime was released for the GameCube in 2002, presenting a very different perspective on Samus’s adventures: a first-person view that put the player directly behind the famed bounty hunter’s visor.
